Architectural Drafter

Industrial Louvers, Inc. has been a major supplier of products to the construction industry since its founding in 1971. A designer, developer and manufacturer of architectural metal products located in Delano, MN, ILI is currently is seeking an architectural drafter. As draftsperson you will prepare clear, complete and accurate drawings from rough or detailed prints and/or specifications to submit for customer approval or for fabrication of product.

Candidates must have at least 1 year of experience as a drafter, preferably with commercial construction building products as supplier/manufacturer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide architectural submittal drawings in compliance with contract documents, and within the specified budget and timeline.
• Create Revit objects for use in building information models.
• Update and maintain drawings in accordance with customer revisions, field dimensions and engineering calculations.
• Provide fabrication drawings and documents for use during fabrication.
• Provide complete fabrication documents in accordance with the project timeline, which include:
  • Optimized pull and return lists
  • Cutting order
  • Assembly drawings
  • Part drawings
  • Programs
• Develop, maintain and follow standard templates and fabrication guidelines.
• Maintain library of standard details, parts and programs.
• Participate and develop standard work processes for continuous improvement.

Provide Support to Sales and Operations Departments

• Assist Sales & Marketing department with architectural consultations by providing schematic designs and/or graphic presentations.
• Provide preliminary conceptual sketches for design assistance and approval.
• Provide technical and customer assistance.

Education and Experience

• Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or minimum of one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with Revit and AutoCAD.
• Experience with the following software is also beneficial:
  • Autodesk Inventor
  • Solidworks
  • Sketchup
